Sr. Manufacturing Engineer –  – Portland Oregon – Progressive die experience 

 

1.     Provides responsive support to the production line.

 


2.     Determine and develop the method, operation, sequence, and tooling

 


3.     Develop manufacturing guides, procedures, illustrations and drawings and translates engineering specifications 

 


4.     Lead cross-functional, and in some cases, inter-plant new product/process introduction project teams

 


5.     Estimate manufacturing costs and determines time standards.

 


6.     Recommends tooling, processing requirements, designs and specifies new fixtures 

 


7.     Ensures product documentation and manufacturing processes meet all quality requirements.

 


8.     Lead the continuous improvement team for the manufacturing department. Drives efforts and tracks progress to implement cost reduction strategies

 


9.     Develops project plan and ensures completion of all tasks to reduce manufacturing costs.

 


. This position is responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing methods for safe production of high-quality products at lowest possible cost to meet customer’s development schedules.   This position is responsible for transferring the process to the production line and acting as the main engineering focal point for any line issues during production.   This position applies established engineering practices and procedures and contributes to the development of new concepts. 

 


This position may have supervisory responsibility for Engineering Technicians and will frequently serve as project team leader.  This position is responsible for cost management activities including equipment, materials and labor in support of meeting the needs of this position.

 


REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND/OR EXPERIENCE

 


1.     Four-year college degree in an appropriate engineering discipline is preferred

 


2.     Ability to read and understand blue prints, drawings, schematics, sketches and written instructions.

 


      Working understanding of ISO9001 / TS16949 / ISO14001 / VDA6.3

 

US Person with a valid passport is preferred.

15.   Works with Quality Assurance to identify, document, and establish inspection methods. 

 


 


 


 


 


 


 


16.   Provides technical review of nonconforming articles and participates in corrective action resolution activities.

 


 


 


 


 


 


 


17.   May be responsible for supervising activities, determining priorities, and assisting Engineering Technicians.

 


 


 


 


 


 


 


18.   Act as back-up to other Manufacturing Engineers in different areas of the organization as needed.

5.     Demonstrated proficiency in specifying equipment and tool design requirements and troubleshooting complex equipment and tooling.

7.     Computer proficiency required, should include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project, as well as AutoCAD and other analysis software.
