Director of Engineering Illinois connectors and cable assemblies
Products are Connectivity Solutions (micro, circular, filtered D Sub, fiber optic, RF connectors, microwave components, passive jacks, plugs and cable assemblies). The Company operates facilities around the world, with over 65 years in the electronics industry.
The products are high performance connectors, fixed length and semi rigid cable assemblies from DC to 50 GHz, and custom solutions. Our product lines deliver custom-engineered solutions to satisfy the most demanding and complex requirements. The products support aerospace, military, wireless communications, data networking, test and measurement, telecommunications, broadcast, medical, oil and gas and other harsh environment applications.
The Director of Engineering is responsible for planning and directing all aspects of engineering activities within the organization while providing technical guidance and ensuring sound engineering procedures. This key member of the Executive Staff contributes to the strategic planning and execution of the business plan for the corporation. Travel required as needed.
·Participate as a member of the Executive Staff under the leadership of the General Manager
·Oversee the design and development of the products while taking into consideration both the goals of the company and the needs of the customers
·Coordinate all the efforts of the engineering team
·Direct and manage multiple concurrent engineering projects while ensuring all projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the organization’s established policies and objective
·Develop systems and controls to ensure compliance with quality standards
·Review and approve proposed engineering designs and subsequent product and process enhancements or changes
·Manage the product design process from design to execution and provide engineering expertise in the areas of tooling, prints, specifications, product maintenance, raw materials, and vended products throughout the organization
·Provide recommendations for methods, materials and layouts for improvement based on manufacturing needs and capabilities while building, developing, and managing engineering teams
·Confer with Sales and Marketing Department to consider market potential for new product
·Manage the Engineering budget including the pricing of all materials and products
Education and Experience
·Bachelor’s degree in the Engineering field
·10 years + experience managing/directing an engineering or similar department
·Prefer experience in the connector industry and manufacturing environment
