TITLE: Applications Engineer (Oil & Gas)
REPORTS TO: Director, Engineering & Business Development – Texas based
The Applications Engineer is responsible for leading the integration of (hardware, software, and firmware) products into customer systems and will serve as the primary technical interface between This individual must be highly technical, good at understanding and finding solutions to complicated issues, and committed to a high level of customer service.
This individual will provide technical interface with customers on the following topics:
1. Measurements While Drilling/Logging While Drilling (MWD/LWD) – specifically directional measurements, telemetry (Mud Pulse or EM), and field/rig operations.
2. MWD tool logic – understand the many configuration settings of standard MWD systems (Tensor, XXT, Bench Tree, etc.) and the effects those settings have on tool operation.
3. Hardware/Firmware/Software interaction – understand the purpose and function of the various aspects of the system, how they interact, and the logic behind them.
1.) Work with customers to integrate the products into the customer tools and operations.
2.) Serve as the main technical point of contact for customers for any technical issues that arise
3.) Oversee customer failure analysis process (ensure good solutions are being provided in a timely manner) 4.) Train customers on all aspects of the tools (operations, software features, etc.).
5.) Provide technical support to sales and engineering groups
6.) Provide insights regarding the development of new products.
7.) Participate in industry trade association meetings and committees and industry trade shows.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Controls, Systems, or similar)
Experience: Minimum 5 Years combined experience in Applications Engineering, Systems Engineering, Integration Testing, or similar field
MWD/LWD tool operation experience required
