Mechanical Design Engineer – Automotive Connectors and coaxial cable for antennas
Brighton, Michigan Design Center
The Mechanical Engineer will conceptualize designs, and facilitate all necessary aspects to create automotive connectors. This includes coordinating projects with customers, and other team members to implement qualifications, acceptance and production. This position reports to the Engineering Manager of the Automotive Design Group.
• Conceptualizes designs for connectors;
• Generate detailed drawings to communicate concepts;
• Provides progress reports and identifies significant issues, coordinates resolutions and evaluates components.
• Coordinates project design and development projects with sales representatives and customers.
• Tests and troubleshoots new and existing products;
• Project costs and implement cost-improvement projects;
• Perform competitor product analysis; and
• Develops new products based on complete market analysis.

Requires creativity and excellent analytical skills; and
Knowledge of the QS9000 Design activity.
• B.S. in Engineering
• 4+ years of experience
• Working knowledge of Pro/INTRALINK
• Working knowledge of a PLM system
• Understanding of dimensioning and tolerancing
Familiar with CAD software (AutoCAD and/or ProE)
