Design Engineer Wire & Cable WI (relocation assisted)
Design of wire for medical devices, medical assemblies, surgical tools, and robotic components used in medical applications. Apply electrical requirements for medical products and translate into design with the cabling components, power, and signal to the device. Experience in ISO 13485 and SolidWorks / CAD to create drawings.
Reports to the Director of R&D and interfaces with sales, field application engineers and customers to obtain and translate customer requirements and into design solutions. This position will release products to the production environment. And support Document Control and Process Engineering
Provide design activity for new and existing products
Review designs and ensure compliance
Translate RFQs & internal development needs into application specific products
Input cable architecture and assembly, and customer into internal cable building software.
Maintain accurate design layouts in cable building software
Manage new material requests for incoming and existing designs
Integrate new part numbers to the organization.
Technical design lead for risk and feasibility evaluation.
Responsible for DFMEA and Critical Design Review.
Bachelors degree in Engineering and 5 to 10 years experience in a product design, or equivalent education and experience.
Extensive experience with SolidWorks or CAD programming and 3D models.
Design experience with extrusion processes utilizing PVC, Polyolefins, TPE, Nylon, Polyurethane, Fluoropolymers, and Cross-Linked Polyethylene for copper conductor insulation and jackets.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and on design (UL, CSA, ISO, FDA)
