Distribution Manager North America – remote

Connectivity Products,
Directs channel management, channel segmentation, and establishment of channel growth programs. The Distribution Manager will work in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Product Management and Business Development departments to facilitate a comprehensive North America channel strategy. The Distribution Manager will work to align interconnect products with distributors whose strategy and market approach best fits those products. Detailed sales analysis and reporting will be required to define and support the strategy. This position will require travel to corporate channel locations as well territory branches. The position will report directly to the Director of Sales North America. Travel will be within the U.S. to visit manufacturers’ representatives, distributors, and customers
Define Connectivity Solutions channel value proposition, the vehicle for which sell via channel partners on the commercial merits of doing business together (growth, profitability, return on capital, brand, etc.).
Develop and implement a comprehensive channel strategy for products aimed at moving toward tier-one distribution. Identify barriers to achieve the plan in the market and define specific objectives to overcome them. Regularly visit key Distributors and update strategy as required on an annual basis.
Design, lead and manage motivational/loyalty/commitment programs to secure and retain selective distributors.
Establish and maintain policies, procedures and practices relating to the management of all channel strategy related functions.
Develop and maintain relationships with key distributor top management personnel and in the field.
Effectively coordinate with sales and distributor management, manufacturer’s representatives, product marketing, operations and customer service to implement tactical objectives.
Actively network with distributor organizations and functions (i.e. EDS) to insure company is up to date on distributor programs, trends and strategic direction.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s level degree in Business, Marketing or Engineering
• 5 years related experience in industrial sales or OEM sales/marketing with focus on distribution channel development.
• 5 – 10 years’ experience as part of a distributor management team preferred.
• 50% to 60% travel
